FSB Public Affairs is seeking an experienced public affairs professional to be a part of a fast-growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing day-to-day public affairs, public relations, and consumer engagement programs for a diverse slate of clients, issue campaigns, nonprofits, and corporations. We’re looking for a self-starter who can be a productive contributor in a team environment to partner with and support the goals of colleagues on other account teams. This is a fulltime, exempt position based out of Washington D.C.
Responsibilities
Client and Project Management
· Serve as a primary client contact and engage with clients directly
· Help manage project teams, delegate tasks appropriately, develop and review client deliverables to ensure high quality standards
· Plan, organize and lead internal and client meetings
· Provide strategy consulting and execution support to clients
· Monitor developments in key client issue areas and flag opportunities for further client engagement
· Design and implement multi-faceted, integrated communications and campaigns to position client issues and priorities with key audiences
· Develop compelling grassroots and grass tops advocacy communications and content to convey complex policy issues to the general public
· Conduct and guide research
· Develop plans and presentations
· Assist in properly scoping and pricing work, as well as managing work activities and resources within agreed upon budgets
· Maintain an awareness of macro business and industry issues related to client business and offer insights and suggestions that will be beneficial to clients
· Analyze potential client needs, propose innovative solutions and creative ideas,
· Provide proactive counsel on business and communications challenges, research findings, the external marketplace, competitive pressures and brand influences to sell agency expertise, gain consensus on creative ideas, and develop strategic initiatives
· Manage multiple client engagements of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment
· Create thoughtful, clear, concise presentations that outline business objectives, POVs, strategic plans, etc.
· Interact with client peers to ensure there are no surprises and that work is meeting all expectations
· Establish and meet internal client and project revenue targets
· Plan, create, and execute social media campaigns, determining channels, crafting content, graphic visualizations, and providing real-time monitoring of its effectiveness
Professional Development and Mentorship
· Contribute to a healthy work environment based on respect and support of colleagues
· Provide guidance and support for career progression and performance among junior staff; manage junior staff as client/firm needs require
· Actively identify and participate in external events to build sector knowledge
· Build relationship with clients and colleague at all levels
Business Development
· Identify ways to expand client engagement to retain and grow existing clients
· Support new business development by developing high quality credentials, proposals and pitch documents and participating on pitch teams
· Acquire a working knowledge of Core Strategic Group’s full capabilities as a company and seek opportunities to cross sell services
Business Management & Marketing
· Seek opportunities for marketing and promoting the company through thought leadership and networking activities
· Manage/contribute to the company’s social media and digital presence
· Contribute to overall client financial management; help establish and meet internal client revenue targets
· Partner with practice leads to identify opportunities to streamline, elevate and innovate our tactical processes and company operations.
· Identify and monitor any emerging or current communications or reputational issues and manage company response in conjunction with company leadership
· Participate in strategic communications planning and business analysis
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field or equivalent experience
· Minimum of 6-8 years of working experience in a professional environment within the public relations, communications, and / or advertising industries – specific consulting experience a plus
· Solid project management experience, including overseeing a team and multiple deliverables; Ideal candidates will have at least two years leading client projects from start-to-finish
· Exceptional time management skills; ability to work under pressure to prioritize work and meet deadlines
· Proven track record of successful integrated campaigns with strong working knowledge of social media, content development, events and traditional media
· Strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
· Outstanding presentation skills including the ability to engage executive leadership, ability to communicate critical information to management and clients
· Ability to contribute to new business proposal writing and pitch meetings
· Ability to work collaboratively, while also able to work independently, take initiative and set priorities
· Expertise/familiarity with digital advocacy a plus
· Strong media experience/media relationships a plus
